Susan Biography

Susan Fisher, CFP®, RICP®

Susan Fisher, CFP®, RICP®, works with individuals and families to help them live well, throughout their life's journey—from saving for college through retirement planning and life's needs in-between. She has a special interest in helping women achieve their financial goals. She also works with non-profits, schools and small businesses to keep them on track for success.

Susan earned her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1993.  She launched her financial services career working in financial sales and training for IDS/American Express, where she won awards for excellence. In 1999, she began her affiliation with Flagship Wealth Advisors.

She has recently earned the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designation and with this she has become an authority in the fields of Social Security and Medicare. She leads seminars locally and speaks at area events.

While maintaining her CFP status, Susan embarked on a second career as a performing arts teacher in grades K–12 public schools, north of Boston. During her time as a teacher and curriculum developer, Susan raised funds and created alliances between the public schools and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, creating new opportunities for students.

Though retired from teaching, Susan's classroom experience helps her educate clients and present financial concepts and options in a way that's easy to understand. "I traded my work inspiring students to express themselves through the arts, for motivating adults to save and work toward financial independence," she says.

Clients enjoy Susan's easy-going personality and broad knowledge of financial planning topics.

Susan helps clients navigate the ever-changing financial waters with confidence. "When times are good, people want to know they're spending wisely, and their money is working for them. When times are tough, they want to know there is a plan and someone is watching over them."

In addition to being an experienced CFP®, Susan also holds series 7 (general securities representative) and series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent) registrations, and is licensed to sell insurance in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Florida.

Susan holds an MA degree in Education from Tufts University and a BS degree in Music Education from Hartwick College. She is a published photographer and world traveler who took part in an EARTHWATCH archeological dig in Queensland, Australia. Susan is an avid hiker who as an Adirondack 46er has climbed all the high peaks in New York State. She has served on the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Education Advisory Committee and previously served as a board member of The Opera Laboratory Theater Company in Boston. She's originally from Upstate New York.
